For me the photographic image is neither a copy nor a true representation of the real. However, neither is it a reflection of the photographer’s vision nor interpretation of the object that the camera captures. On the contrary, the image, once captured in its almost impossible fleetingness, takes on an existence on a plane separate from both the reality of the object and the photographer’s action. Both the latter are ephemeral, un-replicable and forgettable to the point of non-existence. The image however, dwells in the metaphysical world of metaphors, creative impulses, dreams and visions. At once immortal and yet always intangible...
